Tonerider Launches Strat Pickups for Lefty’s

Building on the success of its vintage-improved Alnico pickup series for Strat-type guitars, Tonerider introduces a new left-handed version of its best-selling Pure Vintage (TRS1). Production of the LH pickup has commenced and will be available in dealer stores and distributors in mid-May. The list price is $135.00 US dollars per set.

Finding high-quality pickups with left-handed magnet staggers has always been hard, but the Pure Vintage LH goes further than just switching around the pole piece lengths. Andrew Cunningham, one of
Tonerider’s founders and its chief pickup designer explains more: “It’s necessary for us to introduce “lefty” models because we aren’t just putting different length pole pieces into the pickup and calling it a “stagger”. Across the range of positions (neck, mid and bridge), Tonerider magnets might be charged stronger in the bass position and demagnetized slightly in the treble position, and, in the case of the bridge pickup, use a mix of two different Alnico grades. Simply put, only with a full “Lefty” can you get 100% of the performance of the design into your tone.”
With the increasing visibility of the Tonerider brand within the pro-musician community, requests from left-handed players have been growing, reaching a groundswell after Tonerider’s launch in the UK market.

25.5” scale and a chambered Queensland Maple body, big tone and plenty of spank.

This is our go-to workhorse, professional instruments from the build quality through to the hardware and electronics we use.

We looked at the things that matter - playability, tone and versatility.

  • Compound radius fretboard enables ultra low action – and no fretting out when you do the big bends.
  • Sleek fast neck – very playable
  • Grover Locking tuners for maximum tuning stability. Not a lot of guitars in this price range have locking tuners as standard equipment.
  • Wilkinson vintage style tremolos. Bent steel saddles for that ring and clarity.
Stagger drilled block so that strings pass over the saddles at an optimum angle.
Two post pivot system for improved tuning stability
  • Chambered Queensland Maple body. These guitars have tone, and loads of sustain. They resonate and sing, and you can hear the difference.
  • Tonerider Pickups. Our F Series guitars feature Tonerider pickups. They are some of the sweetest sounding pickups we have heard – regardless of the price.
