Kineman Karma and Tonerider Pickups
Feb 17, 2009 Tonerider News

You haven’t experienced Reggae until you’ve seen and heard Nunga Reggae band KINEMAN KARMA in action!
Kineman Karma was formed in early 2002 by John Rigney with an aim to document traditional and contemporary Australian and Ngarrindjeri cultural and political issues.
The vision – to form a world class reggae band as a platform to deliver strong messages and showcase the talents of some of SA’s leading multicultural musicians. The songwriting, arrangements and line-up has evolved into a powerful cultural and artistic mix.
Having grown up on a staple musical diet of No Fixed Address, Mixed Relations and Scrap Metal, John ‘Ringo’ Rigney was also surrounded by some of the greatest musical characters in the Ngarrindjeri community. Hearing them document Ngarrindjeri life, culture and issues with a guitar, using hilarious anecdotes that carried powerful messages of wisdom in country & western style.
The band uses the power of music as the most effective vehicle to communicate political, cultural, protest messages to & educate the wider
community about Ngarrindjeri issues. Kineman Karma’s style is an eclectic mix of Roots & Rock Steady/Reggae, Ska with Country & Western & Jazz influences.
John is now using our City Limits and Pure Vintage pickup sets. Check out the great Aussie Reggae sounds of Kineman Karma on MySpace! or Blacklist!
